Creative Extensions 2022

More Than Meets The Eye

Over the last two years, the University of Canberra’s Faculty of Business, Government and Law sought submissions for its inaugural Creative Extensions 2022 art exhibition. The exhibition is comprised of a range of artistic works from our Business, Government and Law community: academic and professional staff and HDR students alike, Creative Extensions 2022 is a stunning display of the imaginative capacity off our community. The importance of both creativity and collegiality emerged as dominating thematic frames in the compilation of this collective. Collegiality, as the contributors are sharing their creative work as members of the BGL community. As in an industry where criticism is the basis of growth, where every action is scrutinised, it is easy to forget that, at its core, academia needs to be collegial and is a creative process. We are creative people, as we use knowledge, imagination and ingenuity to close gaps in knowledge and to problem solve in society. There is certainly more than meets the eye with our Business, Government and Law staff as they demonstrate their own extensions of creativity in this stunning collection of art, photography, and craft. Creative Extensions 2022 highlights these often-overlooked artistic components of academia, where the need for everyday play and creativity is expressed in paint, cloth, soil, food, and film.
